YOUNG MUSLIM BEACON AWARDS 2011 - NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN

Deadline: Friday 16th September 2011
Nominations Now Open.

The Young Muslim Beacon Awards organised by the Muslim Council of Britain and its Youth Affairs Committee is designed to 'recognise, celebrate and inspire' excellence amongst projects / organisations which cater for young British Muslims.

Established in 2008, each year only three awards are handed out to a local, regional and national project / organisation that have made a significant and meaningful contribution to the lives of young Muslims in the UK. It does not necessarily need to be a Muslim run project and/or organisation.

The select number of awards each year are designed to showcase the very best of those making a valuable difference in the community. The main purpose is to give greater and more high profile exposure to such a project / organisation and to showcase them as positive examples to the wider community and the country.

This year the awards will be presented to the winners at a reception at the House of Lords on 11th October 2011 hosted by the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, Farooq Murad, along with the Chairman of the Conservative Muslim Forum, Baron Sheikh of Cornhill, in the City of London.
